The 5 Best Spas in Bali (Massages, Scrubs, and More!)

Estimated reading time: 9 minutes

Looking for Bali’s best spas? Look no further for the perfect place! This tourist destination is filled with good spas for a full day of pampering.

We all need a spa day once in a while, and Bali is HEAVEN for massages, traditional body scrub (lulur) and other treatments. The trained therapists are skilled in different types of massages (Balinese, Javanese, shiatsu, or even Thailand-style).

They also offer other body treatments, adding refreshing experiences to your vacation. They’ll be able to soothe your tired muscles and revive you right up after a night of partying!

Most hotels have their own day spas, but it would be fun to explore the island and try out different places.

Traditional Balinese Massage

What is the traditional Balinese massage and how is it different? It is a medium pressure massage with aromatherapy oil, and is a body treatment done from head to toe. With the traditional Balinese method, the massage therapist uses the thumb and the palm to pressurize the body. The main purpose of this style of massage is for relaxation and optimum blood flow.

P.S. = This post is NOT sponsored, everything is based on personal experience!

1. Jari Menari, Seminyak

This spa has been a long-time favorite of mine in the Seminyak area! This award-winning spa has been around since 2001. Their all-male therapists are professionally trained, and it shows! Jari Menari has so many different types of massages and wellness treatments.

They have a wide selection of massages. From Signature Full-Body Massages, Sound Healing Massage, to Pregnancy Massage- your choice is endless. Book in advance to make sure you secure your timeslot!

Spa Treatments

Signature Massage: 526K IDR for 75 minutes
Deep Tissue Massage: 598K IDR for 90 minutes
Lulur (traditional body scrub) and Masque for Hands & Feet: 434K IDR for 45 minutes

2. Spring Spa, Uluwatu

Spring Spa has branches in Canggu and Uluwatu, but the latter is my favorite. The Uluwatu branch is the newest one, and the building is just so beautiful and relaxing! No wonder they have won Asia’s Best Day Spa multiple times. It is a great place to get your treatments while chilling with a young coconut drink by your side.

They also have affordable prices for the shorter treatments. For a more comprehensive treatment, you can take a look at the spa package available on their website. Package offerings include traditional boreh scrubs, Balinese massage, and an anti-inflammatory jamu shot. Santé!

The staff and therapists are kind and professional, and the deep tissue massage really hit the spot! Try the lymphatic drainage massage as well if you have an important event- it debloats you like poof! They also have a hair salon, so you can get your hair done here after your spa treatment.

Spa Treatments

Deep Tissue Massage: 335K IDR for 50 minutes and 510K IDR for 80 minutes
Traditional Balinese Massage: 310K IDR for 60 minutes and 435K IDR for 90 minutes
Lymphatic Drainage Massage: 650K IDR for 90 minutes

3. Bodyworks Spa

This is easily the most insta-worthy spa on this list! Not to worry, their massages and treatments are amazing as well, though on the more expensive side. I have been there twice, and I thoroughly enjoyed my spa experience with their professional therapists.

The single treatment rooms are beautifully decorated, and I appreciated the privacy. I chose the Exfoliation Massage! I did not expect to literally be covered in fresh yoghurt*, but my skin felt so soft afterwards! The lulur/traditional body scrubs treatment was so effective.

*I definitely did not read the fine print!

Do not forget to take pictures in their beautifully designed open space courtyard, it’s part of the experience 🥰

Flower bath is available as an add-on, a great addition if you want to bathe in flower petals!

Spa Treatments

Aromatherapy Massage: 690k IDR++ for 65 minutes
Traditional Balinese Full-Body Massage: 650K IDR++ for 70 minutes
Exfoliation Massage: 800k IDR++ for 110 minutes
Flower Baths (add-on only): 215K IDR for 30 minutes (you also get a pot of tea and some dates!)

4. Jamu Spa, Canggu

Jamu spa is a tourist-favorite in the Canggu area. The word jamu itself refers to a local herbal drink that is revered for its healing properties. This spa champions natural ingredients and natural products for healing. You can pick your favorite massage essential oils and they serve you ginger tea!

The deep tissue massage is so nice and the place is so aesthetically pleasing! Additionally, the location is convenient for those in the Canggu area. The lymphatic drainage massage will depuff you right up before any weddings or important events!

Spa Treatments

Lymphatic Drainage Massage: 430K IDR for 60 minutes
Deep Tissue Massage: 330K IDR for 60 minutes and 430K IDR for 90 minutes

5. Sundari Day Spa, Seminyak

Situated in Seminyak, Sundari Day Spa is one of the best spas for those staying in this area! They are on the pricier side for sure, but their excellent reviews speak for itself. The spa’s vibe is super relaxing, and the skilled therapists will massage your knots away. They also provide a separate room to blow dry your hair after your treatment.

The welcome drink was a nice touch as well, make sure to contact them through WhatsApp to book a spot. Complementary pickup available for Seminyak, Kerobokan, Umalas, Berawa, Batu Belig & Petitenget areas.

Spa Treatments

Traditional Balinese Massage: 600K IDR for 90 minutes and 750K for 120 minutes
